A video of the 1976 biosphere fire.
After October 1967, Expo 67 lived on as an exhibition called Man and His World during the summer months, from 1968 until 1981. By that time, most of the buildings had fallen into disrepair and were dismantled. Today, the islands that hosted the world fair are mainly used as parkland and for recreational use, with only a few remaining structures from Expo 67 to show that the fair was held there.
The Montreal Biosphère burned after a welding accident; the cover was destroyed but the lattice was fine.
